- The maximum tensile deformation in the tension zone outside the neutral layer shall not exceed the allowable plastic value of the material to avoid cracking.
- For the compression zone inside the neutral layer, the thin‑wall section subjected to tangential compressive stress shall not exceed the instability threshold so as to prevent wrinkling.
- Where ellipticity is required for tubes, cross‑section distortion shall be kept under control.
- Where tubes are required to withstand internal pressure, the forming limit of wall‑thickness reduction shall be strictly controlled.
